1.关于媒体对孩子造成的影响：游戏、电影、电视剧给孩子带来的影响都是双面的，正面影响有：孩子可以通过打游戏、看电视等方式，了解到更多的知识，如认识各种动植物或学习必要的生活常识（common sense）等，这些都有助于构建孩子与世界的联系，增加他们的知识量，激发他们的好奇心。但负面影响是：一方面过多地接触电子屏幕对视力（eyesight）和骨骼都是有损害的，尤其对于正在成长发育的孩子来说，这种损害会更明显；另一方面，不同于已经有足够经验和稳定是非善恶观（moral sense）的成年人，孩子会盲目接受和学习其所看到的一切行为，如果没有成人监管和引导的话，有些影视游戏作品中展现出的恶行（misdeed），经常会成为孩子们模仿的对象，造成不良后果。

2.关于媒体对成年人造成的影响：便利的信息传播手段（ways to disseminate information）给人们的生活带来了极大的便利，手机、电话、电脑的出现，使人们无需出门，也能联系到千里之外的人，实现沟通的目的，同时，各种新闻软件、广告等，让人可以足不出户，便了解到天下事，极大地满足了人们的求知欲（thirst for knowledge）。但其弊端也随之而产生，由于沟通已经无需见面，人们面对面交流的机会减少了，而缺乏表情和肢体的互动，会在一定程度上导致人们产生孤独感。同时，经过加工（process）后的媒体信息，很多时候都并非客观真实（objective and authentic）的，人们很容易被其误导。
