      雅思高分作文模板：经济发展类　　Today, some food travels thousands of miles from farms to consumers. Some people think that it would be better to our environment and economy if people only eat local produced food. To what extent do the disadvantages outweigh the advantages?　

Nowadays, a variety of food which is cultivated in the farm thousands of miles from the consumers is supplied in the market. In this case, there is an opinion that the food travelling poses a threat to the environment and economy; however, from my point of view, its benefits are far more significant.　On the one hand, food travelling has some overwhelming positive influences, first of which is that food travelling offers multiple choices. When consumers are able to purchase food from distant farms， it means that more balanced nutrition is made available, which helps consumers to keep healthy and feel satisfied with the diet. In addition， cultural communication will be increased during the process of food traveling. This idea lies in the fact that every country possesses its ow  characteristics of food culture, and various cultures could communicate at regional, national and international levels through the transport of food.

　The downside of transporting farm food, on the other hand, is that it might damage the environment and challenge the local companies in the destinations. It may waste too many irreplaceable fuel sources such as petrol and oi, and the pest and virus in the food might bring disasters to the local eco-system. As for the harm to local companies, it is reflected by the possible reduction of the sales volume when most consumers may be more interested in foreign food and even believe these foods are more healthy. However, this also means local food companies have to pay more attention to their food quality and implement technological innovation under intensive competition, which is absolutely beneficial to their future development.

It is therefore reasonable to conclude that the merits of food traveling overshadow its demerits. However, | also suggest that related measures should be taken to avoid environmental issues and local companies get prepared enough to join in the competition.(359 words)
