I want to describe a traditional product, that is paper cutting. Paper cutting is to use scissors to cut paper into various patterns. It is the crystal of Chinese wisdom. The first time I saw paper cutting was on spring festival when I was 5 years old. I was totally amazed because I have never seen such a beautiful handcraft. My grandfather, at that time, cut paper into patterns that symbolizes ‘happiness’ and ‘fortune’ and then stick them on the window to celebrate the new year. I was really curious and willing to have a try. However, I cannot recognize what I have cut. It was really ugly and hard to be identified. Then my grandfather taught me that I should draw the pattern on the paper first, and after that it can be cut. So, I tried again, and this time, my work was much better. I remember I have been doing the paper cutting during the whole afternoon with my grandpa and later, my parents joined us. We had a really good time together. Well, I love paper cutting a lot, and I think that the reason I like it not only because this kind of handcraft is very beautiful, but also it reminds me of the happy time I had with my family.
